Fix validations on settlements

When importing trades from apps, you may come across errors or warnings. Here’s how to fix them.

Possible Reasons for Validation Errors

  • Description: Missing symbol, scheme name, or contract name.

  • Buy/Sell Dates: Missing dates, sell date is before buy date, or trade date is in the future.

  • Buy/Sell Prices: Missing prices, zero, or negative amounts.

  • Quantity: Missing or zero quantity.

  • Expenses: Negative expense amounts.

  • FMV (Fair Market Value) Missing: Required when grandfathering is applicable.

Fixing Validation Errors

  1. Navigate to Settlements:

    • Go to Investments > Manage Settlements.

  2. Filter Settlements with Errors:

    • If errors exist, an error dialogue box will appear.
    • Click view a filtered list of settlements with errors and their reasons.
  3. Fix Errors:

    • Click on the settlement, make the necessary changes, and click Save.

⚠️ Note: Settlements with errors will not be included in P&L and Tax P&L calculations. Ensure all errors are fixed before tracking P&L.
