Pay Self Assessment Tax

If you have any unpaid taxes after TDS and advance tax, you must pay self-assessment tax before filing your Income Tax Return (ITR).

Paying Self-Assessment Tax

  1. Navigate to Pay Module: Go to Pay > Pay Tax.
  2. Select Tax Type: Choose Self-Assessment Tax and select the relevant Assessment Year.
  3. Enter Payment Amount: Input the tax amount and click Pay.
  4. Verify via OTP: Complete OTP verification using your registered mobile number with the Income Tax Department (ITD).
  5. Make the Payment: Choose your preferred payment method and complete the transaction.
  6. Receive Confirmation: Once the payment is successful, wait for the challan details to be reflected in the Income Tax Department (ITD) records. After the payment is reflected, add the challan details under File > Tax Credits so the tax paid is considered while filing your return. For detailed steps, see How to Add Taxes Paid by You .
