A revised return allows a taxpayer to rectify the error or omission of facts made at the time of filing the original ITR.

Steps to revise a return (original return was filed through Quicko)
- In the Filing tab, scroll down and click on REVISE RETURN
- Click on Revise on your own
- Select the reason for revising your ITR
- Enter the following details:
- Original acknowledgment number
- The original date of filing ITR
- Notice Number, if applicable
- Date of Notice, if applicable
- Click on Save
Note:
The due date to file a revised return for FY 2021-22/AY 2022-23 is 31 December 2022. However, you can still file an ITR-U with expert assistance if you've missed filing a return by booking a MEET.
Steps to revise a return (original return was NOT filed through Quicko)
- In the Filing tab, navigate to ADDITIONAL DETAILS from the side nav
- Under Revised Return, click on EXPLORE
- Click on Revise on your own
- Select the reason for revising your ITR
- Enter the following details:
- Original acknowledgment number
- The original date of filing ITR
- Notice Number, if applicable
- Date of Notice, if applicable
- Click on Save
After these steps, you can rectify the errors and proceed to e-file & e-verify your revised return.
