The above error takes place when the name entered in ITR is not as per the PAN of a taxpayer. 


In this case, you need to enter the name as per the name registered on the income tax portal or your last filed return.

 To resolve such an error on Quicko

  • Login to Quicko
  • Go to Taxpayer Profile from the upper right corner
  • Navigate to the Personal Details tab > Name
  • Change the Name as per PAN/Income Tax Portal
  • Click on Save  
  • Navigate to E-File from the side nav and file ITR again



To resolve such an error on the Income Tax Portal

  • Login to your income tax portal account using PAN/AADHAAR and Password
  • Go to My Profile from the upper right corner as shown in the screenshot below



  • Navigate to the Personal Details and click on Edit
  • Change the Name as per PAN
  • Click on Save
