A tax credit is an amount that can be deducted from the taxes due and reduce the overall liability.

Tax credits include various taxes such as advance tax, self-assessment tax, and TCS/TDS that has been paid by a taxpayer.



Steps to add Tax Credits




1. To add tax credits using Autofill Feature

(This feature will directly fetch your details of the Salary income from the income tax portal)

  • Tap on Autofill > Continue 

  •  Select the method to connect with your ITD account > Continue


2. To add tax credits using Form 26AS

  • Tap on Upload Form 26AS

  • Tap on Browse and upload Form 26AS PDF

On the next screen, you will see the details reflected


Note:
Make sure that Form 26AS is:  

 1. In a PDF Format  
 2. Of the relevant assessment year  
 3. Of the same taxpayer



3. To add tax credits Manually

In case you do not have Form 26AS, don't worry! You can still report your credits.

  • Tap on Add Manually

  • Select a Tax Credit, applicable to you and enter the details,

    • Tax Deducted at Source

    • Tax Collected at Source

    • Taxes Paid By you


Note:
You can add multiple tax credits by clicking on Edit / Review > Add Tax Credit.
