You can file a Revised Income Tax Return u/s 139(5) if you discover any mistake in filing your original ITR. 

A taxpayer may also be required to file a revised return if the income tax department issues a notice.


It is quite simple to file a revised return on Quicko, as the details of the original return are automatically fetched. All you need to do is make the necessary changes, save them and file a revised return.




Steps to file a Revise Return (If original ITR filed through Quicko)


  • In the Filing tab, scroll down to the bottom
  • Tap on the Amend ITR > Confirm

After these steps, you can rectify the errors and proceed to e-file your revised return. 





Steps to file a Revise Return (If original ITR not filed through Quicko)


  • In the Filing tab, navigate to Additional Details
  • Tap on Manage in the tab of Revise Tax Return
  • Select the option of Revising Return
    • Original acknowledgment number
    • The original date of filing ITR
    • Notice Number, if applicable
    • Date of Notice, if applicable
  • Tap on Save


After these steps, you can rectify the errors and proceed to e-file your revised return.
