Here's how you can fix some common ITR Validations on Quicko.

Here's a list of error messages from the ITD and solutions to them.
1. "ITR already e- filed / Your return is already submitted. You cannot resubmit it"
You will get this error when you have already submitted the return and trying to submit it again. There is a possibility that you have submitted an "original" return (1st return filed for a particular A.Y.) and trying to file the return again without adding the acknowledgement number of the Original return.

2. Name does not match with PAN database
You will get this error when the name mentioned in your return does not match with the Income-tax portal. The name should be in the same format as it is in the Income tax department portal or last filed return.

3. DOB does not match with PAN database
You will get this error when the DOB mentioned in your return does not match with the Income-tax portal.

4. Invalid Aadhaar Number
You will get this error when the Aadhaar number entered in the return is not valid or the same as mentioned in your Income tax portal.

5. Form 10IE details are required
You will get this error when you are opting into the new regime without providing the Form 10IE details such as the date of filing & acknowledgement number. You may also face this error if you opt for the Old regime without opting out of the New regime along with supporting Form 10 IE detail.

6. Form 10IE is already filed, Not Opting/Not Eligible to opt-in Option not allowed for the current AY
You will get this error when you have submitted Form 10IE on the Income tax Portal but have not selected the correct option while filing the ITR. Income tax verifies the data of Form 10IE before filing the return.

7. Form 10BA must be filed to claim deduction u/s 80GG for rent paid
You will get this error when claiming a deduction u/s 80GG for rent paid, however, you have not filed Form 10BA. Here's a read on Form 10BA.
Solution:
You must file Form 10BA before claiming deduction u/s 80GG.
8. Your Previous Assessment year return is not verified
You will get this when your previous return is not E-verified.

9. Modification outside Utility is not allowed
You will get this error when a technical glitch arises during the generation of JSON file, causing the Income tax portal to reject the JSON file.

10. Other Error Messages
There may be other error messages that Quicko may not be able to solve at this point. We are continuously updating our products to reduce these errors. These errors may occur due to erroneous rules introduced by the Income Tax portal. The income Tax portal often reverts these rules after grievances are raised by affected taxpayers. Some errors may be the result of outdated schemas, special characters etc.
