Tax Refunds

Tax Refunds

You are eligible for a tax refund when the total tax paid or deducted exceeds your actual tax liability. If you’ve filed your tax return and are awaiting a refund, here’s how to check for possible delays and estimate the processing time.

Common Reasons for Refund Delays

  • Bank Account Not Validated: Refunds are only credited to a pre-validated bank account. Ensure your account is verified in your Income Tax Department (ITD) account.
  • E-Verification Pending: Your return must be e-verified for the refund to be processed. Make sure you have completed this step.
  • ITD Intimation: If ITD identifies discrepancies in your return, your refund may be delayed or adjusted. Check your email or messages for any updates from ITD
